The annual MBCA Minute Man Section Nautical Event was held on Sunday July 25th.   The outlook looked bleak with heavy rain here, downpours there and light rain everywhere.  But a phone call with the Captain of the "When and If",  after he studied the weather map, assured us that it would clear up and all would be OK at departure time.  Indeed, he was right and we had a goldilocks wind with the breeze not too light and not too severe but just right.  All those aboard agreed that it was a magnificent sail.

Afterwards we motored from the pier in Salem to the restaurant in Beverly, MA known as the Beverly Depot, where we met up with a few more members who hadn't sailed including National Director-at-Large - Ernie Fancy and his wife Bonnie.  There, many engaged in the necessary ritual of alcoholic intake to stabilize their sea legs.  The salad bar was extensive and we had a choice of Salmon, Steak or Steak/Scallop combination.  After dessert, all guests said that they were well satisfied and left with smiles and a well balanced gait.   They were all looking forward for more such section events.
